Michael (Mike) Hebert
Owner & Expert Stylist
In 2011, I started my journey in the cosmetology industry as a student at The Center for Technology, Essex. After graduating in 2013, I got licensed and jumped with both feet into my career. I spent the next 9 years building my business, as well as managing local salons, and bringing education to the industry through working for brand distributors, like SalonCentric and Sullivan Beauty. In 2022, I decided to take a small step back from behind the chair, and returned to CTE, to serve as an instructor.

I have a passion for education, whether it be from my high school students that I am helping prepare for their futures, or to the questions my clients have about their own hair while in my chair. Helping people achieve their dreams is what truly brings me joy.

My goal has been to create a space for stylists and their clients to be able to be themselves, to be authentic, and to feel comfortable and confident. At Vermont Hair Affair, I bring a space for people to relax and enjoy their time. In the words of Marc Anthony, when you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.

I’ve proudly been doing hair in Essex Junction as a licensed stylist for 7+ years. Graduating Cosmetology from the CTE Tech Center. Plus now living here, Essex as a whole has become home to me. As my business grows, so does my love and connection for all my guests.

Blondes and vibrant colors are just some of my faves, but don't limit my services or clients at all. I provide all your hair needs from colors to treatments, cuts and body waxing. I'm here to give you the ultimate refresh.

With years of experience as a licensed stylist in Essex Junction and serving as a representative for Sullivan Beauty throughout New England, I possess a strong passion for all aspects of the industry.
My commitment is to each client with a comfortable and authentic experience, ensuring they both feel and look their best while showcasing their inherent beauty.

I’ve been doing hair professionally for 5 years, and in that time I have come to love what I do more than I ever thought possible. I originally went to school to focus on my first love: vibrant haircolor. I am currently taking color clients after a free consultation, so feel free to book some time to discuss your ideas with me!

My main focus and love right now is haircutting. All lengths of hair are fun for me, but I especially love doing short/medium textured cuts and clippers cuts of all degrees. Whether you’re coming in for a trim or a transformation, I always strive for my chair to be a happy and safe space for everyone!
I prefer to keep all hairstyles gender-neutral, but I also am here for any gender-affirming cuts for all ages.
Kids are also very welcome in my chair! I know they can have some hesitation with this, so I want the thought of hair appointments to be something to look forward to.
